    T5 4motion Wheels offset

    Hey Hey,

Just wondering what offset all the 4motion guys are running on their vans.

    I have a 2011 4motion (ex ambo)

Im looking to buy some Dynamic steel rims or similar steel rims.

I currently have Advanti Thunder rims.
    17x8 with a pos 45 offset
    235/65/r17 tyres

Issue is that the bloke im talking to can only find Dynamic in
    17×8 pos 30 offset
    Or
    CSA
    17x8 pos 35 offset

Im pretty sure i had those on my old 2005 4motion and they worked fine. Just thinking that an extra 15mm might be pushing it...

I am only looking for steel rims, im scared of alloy rims now

We just blew apart two alloy rims yesterday on the Plenty Highway, along with two tyres...then blew a third...then our bottle jack broke haha good times!

    Thanks in advance!!

    EDIT
The 8inch wide wheels have arrived, im happy with them and they look great. Next time i would try source some original 7 inch wide rims, i would then buy 225/60/r17 tyres. Not 235s as the smaller 225s will fit in the spare wheel space without modifying it

17x8 ET30 won’t be that bad, poke will only be another 7-10mm maybe on the rim so maybe go a 235 wide tyre?

Yeah sweet! I was worried it would be 15mm...7-10 will be fine, I have 235s so should be sweet!

What is the Plenty highway conditions at the moment, I’m guessing the corrugations are rough if u have destroyed those alloys.

We are currently at Winton, deciding whether to head that way to Alice or up to lawn hill.

I just got back from a trip in my bi-turbo multi, did the plenty highway on 18" rims. The Qld side is attrocious, and I destroyed 3 tyres and one wheel. The NT side is corrugated but manageable.

TLDR: if you don't have trail tyres fitted go the tarmac route...

cheers for that info, sounds like it’s still rough and in need of grading

I’m currently running BFG Ko2s and lifted, but with those conditions, I’m leaning towards Lawn hill at the moment

Hey Bryn! Would be good to meet up and see you build if ur finished it! The plenty is fine 90% of the time if u let your tyres down and keep an eye on the road, i reckon we were very unlucky...we were worked on Jervois Station for the past 3 months and travelled that same stretch of road we blew our tyres on every Sunday with no troubles. If you dont have two spares its best to stay away! Which way are you headed now mate? We will probably do the Tanami track around Thursday! If you get to Alice before then please let me know!!
