T5.1 Service - Fuel, Air and Cabin Filters

Hi all wondering if someone can please clarify.

I change my oil every and oil filter every 10,000km - normal schedule states 15,000km intervals.

So the fuel filter would require changing every second service? So every 30,000km interval?
Air filter every 15,000km - could this stretch to 30,000km?
    Cabin filter - every 30,000km?

Is there a quick reference user guide to this sort of stuff somewhere?

Cabin filter I find annually is even too frequent. Like the air filter you can give these a tap or blow the dust off and get 2 years if your not doing huge kms or arduous conditions.

Air filter every 30,000km. Don’t clean or even worst blow with compressed air to clean it. Besides, the polyurethane seal of the air filter doesn’t have to seal properly, especially in the hinged air boxes.

Fuel filter 30,000 or 45,000 or even max 60,000km could be okay, if you always fill up at the reputable servos. I use fuel additive every time I buy fuel and when changing fuel filter the inside cartridge is always in good condition (usually at 30,000km intervals).

Cabin filter however I change yearly and the same as with the air filter don’t clean it.

I only travel 15,000 km per year and live in Adelaide.
The van is only driven on weekends and predominantly at highway speeds 80-100 km/h on bitumen - no dirt roads.

I've started doing my own general servicing and will refer to mechanic for things like belts, transmission etc.

I fill up using Mobil diesel at X-Convenience Stores.

Thanks mate - yeah, i've been using a fuel additive also about every 5th refill. I notice the benefits but think it's overkill for every top-up.
Also use LIQUI MOLY Engine Flush Plus between every oil change.

T5.1 Service - Fuel, Air and Cabin Filters

All filters work better and better as they ‘block’ right up to the point they are too blocked. On a truck the air filter will be replaced when intake suction exceeds a maximum level not to an arbitrary time. A new filter is not a better filter.

A light tap is incredibly effective and if you own a 4wd driving in dust an enormous amount of surface dust collects which is easily removed.

I actually use a vacuum cleaner from time to time as also keep the intake box clean from dirt and debris that collects before the filter.

Fuel filters cannot usually be visually inspected so need disciplined changes but air and cabin are the mechanic$ friend like brakes to replace early and often.
