I had a Transporter clutch in a VR6(so same size disc etc) years ago. Was just like a standard commuter car pedal weight.

Hi,
I'm from over on the Polo 9N3 forum but as a clutch upgrade in the GTi may run a Transporter T4 diesel 5 cylinder clutch and pressure plate. This is a clamping force upgrade for my car which has had a few upgrades. Problem is I've recently re-destroyed my lower back and with a clutch change looming I'm worried that the clutch is going to have a too much pedal weight.
From what I can gather (could be wrong) the T4 with the diesel was mostly a commercial vehicle? So can any one please tell me if those clutches are renowned for being a bit mutant in terms of leg effort or if they are pussy cats and more or less on par with any sort of commuter clutch.
thanks
sam

hi mate. Ok brilliant. Good to know. I was also worried whether or not it'd be so much stronger that maybe the release fork would need reinforcing, but sounds like it'll be ok. thx
hmm ok will do. I have a couple laying around. Just boxing it in is the go?
