my assumption would be the factory fitted units would be intergrated???
if i have the dealer install reverse sensors prior to delievry does this mean they will be aftermarket and not be intergrated witht the RCD-510 unit in my highline? i dont think i'd want some tacky add on, if its from the dealer id like it to be intergrated. the dealer cant answer my question....any advice?

I was thinking of the factory installed and dealer installed units as two different things. So if I buy a vehicle that dealer has on the lot and they install sensors at the dealership, will it be integrated ?
Any Sub-Contractor (i.e 'dealer-fit accessory') will NOT integrate with the RNS/RCD510. Only the factory fitted sensors will. At this stage there is no genuine accessory available for the Amarok.

Given that there are other models' (Golf Tiguan etc) OEM parking sensor kits available that do integrate fully with those cars' RCD/RNS systems, and the fact that we know that in some cases even VWA is unaware of other integration possibilities (Multivan RNS510 non-factory fit for instance & Tiguan DSG paddles MF steering wheels), do you think it would be a possibility in this case?
I for 1 would give it go .... source a Golf/Tiguan OPS system, install and hook it up and see how it goes ..... odds are you'll have a good outcome.
Unless Sam or some other dealer has hands-on proof that it will not work?

Exactly right Sharkie, I thing that there is a good chance that it will work.

We just collected our Rok from having the radio swapped over to the RNS510 unit and at the same time having a reverse camera fitted. The 2 integrate perfectly. The camera sits above the tow ball, giving a great view of the tow ball and all around. Very happy with the results. Not yet convinced about the RNS510 as a media unit yet, a few glitches with speakers not working etc. The cable for the MDI has been connected through the cubby as requested, and not in the glove compartment, and is a neat fit.
