    Windscreen washer outlet jet

So I'm sick of having a muddy windscreen. How do I remove the windshield washer yet from the bonnet so I can have a good go at unblocking the jet?

Hopefully this isn't too basic a question, but this thing's got me stumped so far.

Would anyone have a spare if mine is terminally blocked?

    Thanks in advance.

    cheers

Use a big hammer and/or grinder.

    Cheers Lads.

I've done a kind of unblock, but the stream is feeble most of the time so it needs a better fix.

Looks like it's two bits - one underneath where the hose attaches and the outlet itself. Haven't worked out how to separate them without breaking them. Maybe hand me that hammer and grinder...

Any and all comments welcome. There's got to be an easy way to do it.

    Thanks.

it clips in- use a screwdriver to push the sprung side in, and then push the jet out of the bonnet. dont stab yourself in the hand.

cleaning them out is easy - use compressed air and blow BACK through the jet from the ball through the other way.

Or, get a top E guitar string and give it a poke!

Awesome, thanks I'll give it ago tomorrow. I'm a bit clueless sometimes so I appreciate the help.

I have plenty of those - what gauge do you recommend? I use .10s myself

Actually, I've tried using a pin without much luck. A broken pin or 2 is actually what is causing the block.

    The plot thickens

The drama and the intrigue continues.

Had a go at taking the dreaded jet outlet out this arvo but no joy (no surprise either). The issue seems to be the bit where the hose attaches - it doesn't look like it would fit through the hole in the bonnet, nor does it seem to want to detatch.

Are they 2 different bits? Am I losing my mind? (Probably.)

Here's a pic of what I'm dealing with (yes I know what it looks like , and yes I should do something about the rust).

    Cheers

    Referencing your picture above.

Press the left hand side with a screwdrive rto tuck the clip back into the hole as you pull the hose barb away from the bonnet.

The barb rotates away from the panel and will pass through the bonnet with the barb pointing straight away from the panel.

    It's all one piece.
