Where is the potentiometer on the throttle body

I have a little idle issue, I had my car plugged into one of those fault testers and it came back with "Throttle valve potentiometer fault". Where do I find the potentiometer on the throttle body. Oh BTW i have a seat gti with a 2 single came enigne from 95.

On the throttle body, next to the rubber boot is a microswitch with wires.
If you open the throttle it will either click and have a basic on / off setting, or will go smoothly, in which case it is variable. I think the variable ones have more wires.

If it is a later computer you are plugging into an early loom, it could return that fault.

thanks el_foolio yeah frank grimes is my favourite Simpson’s character....hey Golf Loon (or anyone else) is it the thing that tells the computer which position the butterfly valve is in, or it the thing that tell the computer how much air is going into the engine.
