    Cool And so it begins...

After a long drive from Katherine to Brisbane the 2 door mk1 is finally home, Made the whole trip with no issues at all however after a rebuild 10 thousand ago we should have expected it. Have plans to get her onto a rotisserie and cut all the cancer out, just give it a nice once over and tidy it up, Thinking about respraying white again because its an easy colour to work with but would rather a nice red we'll see. Want this thing to last another 30-40 years. Here is a few pics from the trip down. Unfortunately I lost the front lip hitting a dead bird didn't think the car was that low hahah oh well we have a spare at least.

    .......................................... You have balls man.

I have made my cabby as reliable as possible, and still was sh*t scared driving Melbourne>Valla>Melbourne again, and that's in a car I Trust.

Assuming you just bought this, no idea what real condition it is, and decided to drive it back 3000 ks haha. How do you walk with such enormous testicles

Hahaha not quite dad had owned it for the last 2 years finally got posted back to amberly here so we kinda new the condition of it, the whole trip we were switching between cars, we also had a little ford laser and i much preferred driving the golf for some reason, was still surprised though that there wasn't anything that broke, some of those roads were like driving over speed bumps at 100kph.

Now I don't feel so guilty about selling my coilovers and getting adjustable Konis. I won't be getting rid of my Recaros though.

I checked my dictionary and all it had was a picture of some really big balls.

*UPDATE* I have the weekend off for once decided to keep looking for rust/bog made little progress but its a start at least, worst spot so far has been the drivers side rear guard must of been hit and basically filled the whole dent with body filler, seems to be the only bog on the car for now . Also found a couple of rust holes along the rain guard typical place i would assume nothing to major still not sure how to approach it just yet. Would be nice to get the whole car sanded and some dents repaired before i go back to work in January. Will keep everyone posted

*UPDATE* Not much done to the golf been busy building an over engineered car rotisserie with the old man i reckon this thing could hold a 1t body up with ease when its done. Hopefully can start stripping out the golf in a weeks time
Only about half way through the rotisserie.
