Ah, so thats why people cover things in chrome these days???
Thanks for the tip. :)
I have used the same stuff on a nasty rust spot on my old Beetle. The spot kept getting bigger - until I put some rust killer on it. Several years later the spot hadn't increased in size. And I didn't do anything else to it. So I hope it does the same this time.
I haven't had the time lately to do anymore and it was pouring down last weekend. It needs finishing though.
Oh and I'm not sure if POR15 is even available in SA. Does anyone know?

hopefully don't have to use some but will have a look soon too,

so i ATTEMPTED to do a good job on the painting today and made a horrible mess of things :(
I think the only way to fix it is going to be a full respray, but can't afford that for now :duh:
Does anyone know how much i'd be looking at to get a respray done and could i minimise the cost by doing the sanding and stuff myself?
:drinkbeer:
depends where you go. some places wont like that you've done your own prep, others won't mind at all, and that'll be a cheaper job for you. I reckon 2K is the absolute minimum for a proper decent job, most probably at a smash repair place, providing you've done all the prep yourself, & it's just an ext spray. But it really depends on the sprayer, the only way to really tell is to go around and get quotes yourself, with your car. I could be way off! [it's happened before..:P]
post some pics of your spraying attempt, perhaps we can help fix, or rectify the problem.
2K is a absolute min for a basic job, Jarred. For a decent job you're looking at 4K min.
I paid 2.5K which came back as Okay job, that was what I really wanted to pay, and I did all the sanding. filling.. etc You'll see the result in VW nat.
