    Scraper Seals

So I have been doing some reading and I have come across some inferrence that the highly sought after window scraper seals that seem to be highly overpriced, yet essential, may share similarity with the 80-90's transporter.

Where do people get their scraper seals from?

Does anyone know if you can use the transporter part (with some modification I am assuming)?

    Cheers!

If their profile are the same, it should be ok. There are 2 vintage aircooled VW shops in Sydney, can't remember their names, you can easily find them from VWA magazine. Just bring your old rubber to their shop and see if they can match something for you. I don't think they'll be cheap.

There is an online shop in USA (JCWhitney.com) who has almost any type of rubber profile, however AU$ dive to 0.7 US$, it isn't a right time to order stuff from US though.

I ordered a completed set of window rubber for the whole car from a German eBay guy (waterpumper) for less than $600

i am glad someone brought this up as i remember hearing that they fit just have to be shortened as the chrome fits the transporters as well

I've heard tell of people using the MK1 interior scrapers on the outside somehow but I haven't figured out what they're on about yet.

I can't drive my red Mk1 in the rain until I find a solution for this problem as I pulled the rusty swollen scrapers off the car completely. Looks much better but it's not very waterproof.

Try GPC, they are in the UK though but they sell a lot of new old VW stock. I have bought stuff from them at VW shows and been happy with teh products and prices. Maybe you guys down under could arrange a group buy to save on individual shipping costs..
