i put a new engine in my '77, 4 door golf, but i couldnt put the emission control on there because one of the plugs wouldnt come out. so we left it out.
does this matter when i go to get my roadworthy?

Leave it all off and make it look as if it were never there. It would be a severe tester that picked you up on that in a 30 year old car. At least in NSW.
random? as if :P wasnt that guy you rocked up with a camera man/skydiver?

Same colour as my '78 diesel. Silver Diamond?
Oh yeah, Chris. That was a mad mission mate, gearbox and alternator died on the way home. With a car on the back. Yup we battled dude.
now.. if it where australian cars.. you would have been in trouble. zee germans dont pissfart around.. (was at a bbq yesty with Holden/metallica yobs gas-bagin about their v8's)
Well...if anyone ever got Milo cranked before it hit the casket, you would have realised his grunt.
After i changed the box and clutch (even before) it genuinely hammered!
Hard to keep grip on him, much nicer when i had the 225's on the front, original MK (hmm...forgive my innocence) - actually they werent MKII GTI rims...i cant remember, anyway...it had some extreme pull when it was in its full pieces. Didnt last long...someone tried to put it through a school yard after a wee bit too much chit chat with Mr James Beam. (oh...and "I" dont drink bourbon...)
i wonder if he even had his licence.. :P
All 1600 Golfs hammered. in the Uk we had 1L, 1.1 and 1.3L ones. I had a few 1300s which went ok. But 1.6 is best for power to weight ation. i`ve still got Milos motor and box here. A bit of no licence going around i`ve heard.
