Well, as far as me and the guy who owns the S3 have talked he is only taking the seats and a few odds and ends, and the rest of the car is coming to me. I am so excited, can't wait to get started.
Just have to now get rid of the 9A with 020 gearbox and complete gasket set. Keep in mind the gasket set costs $200, Any offers?

Found that my car was built MAY 1979, and thats as far as it goes. Still trying to figure out what the car came out with(engine etc) and what model it is.
i am trying to figure out a 10 digit code which might be it because they did have a new system introduced internationally and I can't figure it out.

Engine and box sold to Sportsracer. Was nice meeting you and having a chat. Now I am really determined to get the AWD project going.
-
Good to know you have the knowledge and resources to do the swap. Next time I meet you for a chat I'll make sure I've got at least 4 hours to talk.
Cheers
Paul

What have you got planned there Paul???
Another Mk1? or something a little newer??
-
Motor will get a rebuild, maybe some sporty cams then goes into the MK2.
-
And he is gonna do a gas conversion!!
And after hearing Paul say he is gonna run gas, I was just thinking if its possible to do the AWD system Mk1 with the 1.8T engine trying to get close to 300BHP ON GAS???
Can anyone shine a little bit of light on this thought...

If you build an engine just for gas you can run much higher compression. Gas is 110 octane. Turbo engines love it.
-
But I always thought that you have to drop the compression on a turbo engine, now you tell me up it?
Can you please explain?

I think he means compared to a similar built petrol engine...
Also, multi point GAS injection is significantly more efficient than a traditional gas mixer too...
