from what ive read, you need the whole engine. , well the head anyway.
I cant seem to find a manifold that holds the injectors in it. most 8V;s have them in the head
A single point injection setup off a mk3 could work well, considered this myself.
Hey guys, im currently running a ****ty carb and i hate it.
If anyone could just hook me up with a list of things that have to be changed in order to Fuel inject it, that'd be sweet.
I know i'll need to change a fair few things, but i just want to see what are my options.

Most Golf's with 1.8 engines will have the injection head so that shouldn't be a problem. Best bet is to get all VW bits for the conversion, including a diesel fuel tank. There's something different about the normal tank that makes it unsuitable for all the injection plumbing.

not all 1.8's mate,
Some Mk3's ans SEAT cordoba's run a Single point injection. Just looks like a carby. 99% certain Georgy has this one.
Diesel tank uses bigger lines (8mm i think) and is side feed from tank, think GLS tanks are top feed?

So dan you're saying single poing injection would be the easiest way to go about it?
I was thinking of getting everything from a mk3, ecu, fuel rail, intake manifold, fuel lines, and all other parts. But im no expert, therefor i need advice on the difficulty, and the worthiness of doing this conversion.

J hit nail on Head,
But i reckon for a good fuel efficiency car, a Single point injection system would work pretty well..
they get low numbers pushing a mk3 around, mk1 is much lighter.
