My theory is... If you want something to fit, and you really want it. You can MAKE it work.
I ran a set of 15 x 7s on my MK1 for a bit, admit it was lowered a fair bit but wasn't fully slammed, but it worked well enough.

I like my wheels heaps, so I made them fit. Bit of a **** around but I like the results.
