    DUBSTAR'S PROJECT - Weiss Hase - 1976 Golf LS

I've been hanging out for a project car for a year+ now and I finally found a Mk1 3 door. The search has been long, with a few near misses, but it's complete!

There's tidying up to do, but overall its in great condition.

    Plans are:

    1) Keep the outside minty fresh/period patina
    2) Good suspension and some wider 14/15's with sticky rubber.
    3) I want to go 2.0L crossflow/counterflow 8v and run some Weber DCOEs, but use programmable ignition.
    4) Interior needs a full refurb/strip out. I want some oldschool race seats, like on the early 911s/minis/fiats.

    Things I need are:

    1) A black dash, no cracks.
    2) The lever/lock for the left hand opening vent window, it's gone and I want to glue one back on.

    Any help would be appreciated

It looks pretty damn clean as! Good find was worth the wait. I like the idea of the old type racing seats.

Clean find. Body's straight and no rust. What more could you ask for! I'll keep a close eye on this thread. How did you come across her mate?

Thanks all, I bought it from a guy in Geelong. He had posted briefly on aussieveedubbers about a Mk1 that he had sitting and I said I'd be interested. I have a deck to finish on the house first, after that, its on.

I just ordered some Spax RSX coilovers for him (my wife has named him Andy), which should arrive in a few weeks.

Jealous. I also knew of this car in VIC and was hoping to buy it one day.

Used to be owned by greasykitchen (stephen) from SA.
