    Battery in boot

You do need a non-gassing battery if it is to be installed inside the vehicle. Either an AGM or a sealed maintenance-free unit with vent to outside (similar to Holden VE series) is acceptable and currently legal. We fit these in a daily basis.

Might not make any didference but From the labels on the batterry I've got a delkor 22FR-680 which also indicated that its a sealed MF battery, the information I gained from the young salesman wasnt accurate, he assumed that its a universal battery which could be stored inside or in the engine bay.
I might also contact vicroads and explain what I'm doing so I can get a accurate answer which may comply with the standards!

The Delkor should have recessed terminals and have a hole at one end. You can then get a long thin tube to plug into the hole and the other ends vents to outside via a small hole in the underside of the body in your boot space. There will also bd a hole on the other end which will need a plug. So it will work if properly vented. Any doubts, go see your local Battery World.

It can make space for pod filters, other engine components, tidy up the engine bay if you like to make it look pretty or help with evening out the weight distribution.

I'd be doing it for weight distribution personally.

Thought it would be a good idea to relocate the battery, Also wanted to be a tad different from the other mk1'ers and position the battery in the boot just to make the engine bay look a bit tidy!
