Just over 9 months in now, 9,000km on the odo and no check oil lights. Added a little less than half a litre in total - small top ups every three months or so.

Mine is booked in for an oil consumption test on Friday.
Changed the oil 1200kms ago and had to top up with 750ml of oil yesterday.
Nearly at 10,000kms and it's used 5L+ or so of oil.
Too much if you ask me!
Can I enquire what brand/type oil the dealer has used and how many km's your vehicle has done for those with serious consumption issues?

I'm just under 1000km on the factory oil on a 77TSI and I've had zero oil loss.
hooti - that's OTT. Get onto the oil usage test.
mythik: mineral oil in a turbo engine for 15,000km? yeah, sure.
The major consumption issues are GTI specific and they are occuring well before the first service which is at 15,000kms.Quote:

My oil light also came on again today.
Topped up with 750mls on 31/8 and now it's empty again.
This includes me being away for a week in Japan and my wife only driving it twice in that week.
750mls in 3 weeks?!?!
Hmm...not feeling too good about this situation...
I'd be heading straight back to the dealer mate. What oil did you top it up with by chance?
