Polo GTI to get 6 speed manual

VW Confirms 6-Speed Manual Transmission for Facelifted Polo GTI - Carscoops

Looks like they finally caved to one demand, now they just need to fix the issues with the 1.4twincharge oil useage and everyone will be happy.

Hopefully they return to the 1.8T but i think it will probably follow a 1.6T route, given a lot of the other entries run them (Mini, Renault, Citroen, Peugeot etc)

I liked the 1.4L, I wish they could get the bloody thing right. It gave the Polo a great point of difference over the bevvy of 1.6L's in the class.

They're all reporting the boost from 132kW to 141kW but some sites still reference a tweak to the 1.4, others report it will be the 1.8T from the Octavia.

Meaning it will probably be something else, like a 1.6T.

I believe it will only be a tweak until the new platform arrives.

That makes more sense, especially given the issues with the twin-charger covered in great detail elsewhere doesn't appear to be anywhere near as prevalent in Europe as here.
