    IMPORTANT: Polo Remote Locking Issue RESOLVED

    Many of us Polo (GTI) owners have been inconvenienced by having to press the lock button on the remote two or more times until the car actually locks.

    VW has now released an official TPI/software upgrade that FIXES that problem.

    I just had it done on my car last week and the problem is gone! So go to your dealers and get your Polos updated!

    SWEET! Great news.

    Any idea if there is a campaign number for this or something specific to reference this to (like a software number).

    You know VW dealers, if you don't do their job to get the details they will say "everything's fine..." and "what software update?"

    Really never had this problem. Now that I've heard it I get it will play up tomorrow.

    @nomadx38:
    Just checked the $0 invoice they gave me but there was no TPI number - or any other number for that matter. I'm pretty sure though if you tell them that there definitely is a TPI they should check. FYI, I had it done at Burwin VW (Ferntree Gully, VIC).

    Spray it with some holy water, just as a precaution

    Hmmm I've never heard of this problem. Fingers crossed I don't develop it!

    Just called Burwin VW to ask for the TPI number; however, it is apparently against VW policy to give out internal details such as a TPI number. Tried googling it as well but couldn't find anything. Sorry guys

    Do you really need it though? The Burwin person told me that you wouldn't need to know that number to get this issue fixed, since all dealers should be aware of this TPI release. I still think it's worth to be stickied

    Awesome, thanks for sharing.

    I've booked my car into the dealership for next week. I spoke to the guy on the phone that took the booking and he said he hasn't heard of any update. I think that was just his ignorance though.

    Yeah because if someone in Melbourne goes to any other dealership than Burwin then there is a fair chance that they will e told "it's a characteristic of the vehicle".
