Went to HP in Brisbane and they tried to tune the new ecu. The processor has been upgraded from previous engine. Mark said APR USA will have to reverse engineer the new ecu (brake the encryption). Then all good for a tune. 1-2 month wait so not long now.
Mark and James were awesome and couldn't be more helpful. James took me for a spin in their Polo GTI. What a great car.
Got CAI installed today and when they give the green light I'm booked for a DSG tune and ECU tune and Intercooler.

Just wondering as anyone successfully tuned this engine?
Lots of promises and it's always "another 2 months" - that started 6 months ago for me at a local APR agent!

If you can afford the approx. $800 extra over the APR tune I can confidently recommend the ABT Sportsline module. Before I had it fitted I doubted youtube video claims by 2 or 3 European Polo GTI owners, with the ABT module fitted, claiming 0 - 100 km/h times of around 5.5 secs, I'm not doubting these claims now. Big advantage over other tunes is the VW computer does not need to be opened up and the ABT module takes over ALL the tuning parameters.

if this link does not work the video can be searched on : Kanal von jwcevideo1

In the next few weeks I hope to post my own video of a 0 - 100km/hour run.

5.5 secs with tune only? Surely that can't be.. Otherwise it's pretty damn good value

I hope it's true but logic seems to be a strong advocate against such a claim. APR with their full Polo 6R kit featured in a 2011 FWD shootout does 0-100 is 5.9s. Chip tune, CAI, intercooler, full exhaust, tyres and a bunch of handling stuff was thrown in to achieve this figure.

Yeah, but that was 3 years ago.

You've captured my interest. Any more info you can give me on this tune?

Yes I was aware of ABT's perhaps modest claim of 6.6s. Guess it's a case of watch this space. I will stand corrected if I can't repeat something around 5.5s. Give me a few weeks.

My frame by frame analysis of the German youtube video in Windows Movie Maker suggests 5.5s is correct (in fact I calculated it at 5.3s) but who knows what other mods. this Polo has.

I know ABT tuned a Polo R WRC. Maybe that one does 5.5 with a tune, but on the GTI that does 6.9, these figures just seem too good to be true (as much as I wish it could). Can never get to the grocers quick enough.
