    2013 GTI 13.5 6R - dealer servicing? + high oil consumption?

    Hey all 2013 GTI 13.5 6R - dealer servicing? + high oil consumption? 2013 GTI 13.5 6R - dealer servicing? + high oil consumption? 2013 GTI 13.5 6R - dealer servicing? + high oil consumption?

Firstly I just need to state that I'm a novice when it comes to cars so I'm just after abit of info/advice. I've had my 2013 vw polo gti for about 4 months now, It was a few months overdue for its 65,000 service when I bought it and it hasn't reached the 65,000km mark yet, however it's got a few months left of its warranty so I'm planning to take it to the dealer for that service but I was wondering if anybody could tell me the advantages/disadvantages of getting my car serviced at either a dealer or just a normal mechanic in the future, any answers would be greatly appreciated!

Was also wondering if anybody else experiences high oil consumption with this car? Thanks 2013 GTI 13.5 6R - dealer servicing? + high oil consumption?

High oil consumption is very common with the engine in the Polo GTI. There are some updated parts to help fix it, but you will need to take it up with your VW dealer.

The 60,000km service is a big one (and expensive), so save your pennies and get it done soon.

Where are you based (which city/state)? You will almost certainly have a euro car service specialist nearby, who can look after your car at a cheaper rate than a VW dealer.

I recently had my 45000km service done. I have a 2012 polo gti and the log book service cost me $450 - had this done at VW Southport QLD.

The 60000km is a major service so it could cost $800plus depending on what extras need replacing.

Give a VW dealer a call and they can quote u the log book service.

To be honest I would take your car to a VW dealer as they would be more knowledgeable than let's say Bridgestone. We've had bad experiences in the past with taking european cars to normal mechanics so VW shouldnt have any excuses.

Thanks for the info about the oil and servicing. I'll book it in with the dealer in the next few weeks and see how I go, I'm from Lismore so I'm not sure about any Euro car specialists in the area but I'll check that out too 2013 GTI 13.5 6R - dealer servicing? + high oil consumption?

Thanks alot for the info and the pricing, really helpful, good point about Vw dealers not having any excuses with servicing and getting a quote is also a good idea, ofcourse! A quick Google reveals a place you could try. European Auto Services at Ballina which looks to be only 10-15km away from Lismore.

    European Automotive Ballina

There doesn't appear to be anyone in Lismore itself that specialises in European cars.
