What do you do when its time to sell your APR'd?

Hey guys, just a theoretical (and one we'll all have to face eventually) question, what should one (like myself) do when it's time to sell their APR'd/modded Pogo? Should you:
    a) Advertise it as being APR'd
    b) Advertise it with no mention of it being APR'd
    c) Maybe get it reflashed back to fully stock ECU mapping?
Which would get you most of your money back, considering most buyers would see a modified car as having been thrashed all day everyday?

I'd probably try to sell mine to an enthusiast off the forum first with all mods, ECU etc.
Failing that you paid 1500 for the ECU might as well keep it there as a "selling" point. A sensible buyer should be able to tell if a car has been thrashed or not.
Failling that I'd trade it with the new car dealer for as a highest price I can get.

I would advertise it shipped first and appeal to the enthusiast. I had this scenario with a chipped Leon Cupra in the UK.

I dropped the power with C-Cs custom settings and told him for a few hundred quid I could get it chipped for him. Not letting on that I would be doing it myself.

If you have the stock program and a PIN. You could set it to stock and unlock it, if you get a few bucks extra....??

I've noticed a few turbo Audis recently listing their MTM or APR reflashes as features.
Hard to know how that would be perceived by a non enthusiast, but I see it as something that is 'already done', and an expense I wouldn't have to incur once I bought the car.

I personally am always willing to pay a premium for a car that has been modded, as long as the car has been treated with respect and the mods are tasteful of course.

I recognise that doing the mods myself would be more gratifying, but they would also cost a lot more than buying them on the car already.

Hypothetically, if car has say $6000 mods done to it, I would be willing to pay the owner an extra $2000ish over an equivalent standard one (all other things being equal)

I personally wouldn't mislead anyone and say its not modified. And I don't think that a moddified car equals a thrashed car either. Perhaps in the hands over a 18yr it might well be but I would tend to think most modified cars would be the ones that have been well cared for. If you have always had regular services from a reputable workshop and kept the service history paperwork I don't think you would have any problems selling.

Advertise it in the right place and you are bound to get some enthusiest interested that is looking for those features in the first place. I dare say that quality mods would actually be a selling point.
