    Finally took delivery!

well took delivery of my new toy today. 2007 red polo gti cloth trim.

Ended up only being able to get the red as opposed to the white which i originally ordered (didnt want to wait). However, after seeing the red in the flesh, it stood up damn nice and its really grown on me since.

Before i bought, i only had a brief test drive which basically sold me on the car. But after spending a bit of time and finding my way around the engine somewhat, that is an absolutely sensational drive.

Engine pulls hard and clean, gearbox and clutch are an absolute delight to work with and answer well whatever you ask of it and overall the seats and controls are good once you get them right. The speedo 10k increments then 20k is throwing me a bit and a few times i found myself going quite a bit quicker than i thought but that will get better over time. Its a bit of a treat to get in a manual that pulls well even if your a gear or two up and it really is surprisingly quick for a little car.

seriously the best new car bang for buck at 28k ive spent yet. one more sleep till i spend a bit more time with it

I love the speedo, personally - it looks like I'm the only one though. More precision down low when you need it - great for those 50 and 70 zones (which are normally between major increments).

Just came back from a drive in mine (just riding the torque and not driving hard, admittedly) - 7.5L/100km. None of us GTI drivers exactly bought the car for the consumption figures, but it's nice to know it's easy on the juice when BP Ultimate is close to $1.50 a litre once more.

You'll love the car - hopefully, you'll have an issue free car, like I have (unlike some of the more troublesome ones that have graced this forum).

    Thumbs up

Cheers guys. I spent about half an hour trying to dig my mobile out of the under seat vents today so im going to get some mesh to put over them so that **** doesnt happen again. I have visions of 10 bucks in change sliding up and down the vent everytime i take off and slow down :\.

The only other issue is the stereo really doesnt float my boat, but im having a great time listening to the car to notice . Loving it
