I have on my front left light. I've told VW about it and they are going to look into it when i have time to drop it in.

Should be replaced under warrenty from what i've been reading around. That or fixed, but i think its easier to be replaced. It shouldn't happen.

Having worked for VAG in the uk, i've seen this problem a LOT!

Unfortunately, it is a 'characteristic of the vehicle'.

If you park your car in an area that is cold/damp then you will get fogging in the lenses and it won't make any difference how many times they are replaced, they will still do it.

The problem is that nowadays, lamps are made of plastic and not glass, so they have to be vented so that the heat can escape....so they don't melt! so in cold and damp conditions, you will get some ingress of moisture!

VAGUK told us that if the fogging doesn't go away after 15 mins with lights on, or if there is pooling of water, then we should look for damage/faults in the lamp units. otherwise, if the fogging goes away reasonably quickly, then there is no fault.

We don't get rain in Queensland ... ... well, hardly ever. I haven't noticed my lights doing that ... but then again, I think I've really only driven it on a couple of rainy days since new (Feb 06).

mines stood outside for a year, no issues like that.. unless I've never noticed
