    Looking at a change.

Currently driving a 2008 polo gti and now looking to upgrade. Saw a 2012 147 tsi jetta highline today at a dealer. Selling for 25890. I really do love the polo but will now need something bigger. Any thoughts from members who made the switch to dsg from manual. Thanks.

I changed from a Polo GTI to an R Wolfsburg with DSG. I rarely regret it. With the S2T paddles it is a laugh to drive. Rev-matched down shifts are a joy.

Gone from manual Skoda RS to DSG Skoda RS back to Golf GTI manual
DSG was ok but never really warmed to it. Much prefer the manuals which highlights how good the VAG 2.0T units are
    DSG had zero character

All DSG need a tune. When I need to get a newer car than the ones in the fleet I have now, all 1.8T, it will be DSG.
The car will also be tuned and I have more faith in the DSG to handle what gets thrown at it. The cost of a performance clutch in a manual is considerable.

I reckon an awesome car is the skoda fabia VRS wagon. It has the 1.4 Twin turbo/super charged motor, 7 speed DSG, a huge load area and they can be found for a song. The road registered under 2.5L nsw hillclimb state champion has one. It is tuned yes, but a freakin weapon.

I haven't experienced a Fabia RS personally but if you research this engine and DSG combination in a Polo GTI you may change your 'tune'
Fair body of evidence reliability dampens the ownership experience

If I ever go sedan it'll be which ever RS4 came out with the atmo 4.0L quad cam V8. Did the S4 2.7T wagons come with DSG or manual only? They must have dropped in price by now.
