can't go wrong with tint-a-car can you? expect to pay up to $500 at T-A-C, but other shop can do it cheaper.
i am located in Melbourne. Wow 500 seems a bit too expensive, is there any shop provide the same service but in a reasonable price?
I paid 220 for mine. Its still perfect.
Cost $395 for me at tint-a-car.
Just make sure thay know how to take the door trim off. The guys who did mine pried it off with a screw driver or something and let's just say they had to pay for a new passenger side interior door handle (the black plastic) - when I took it back to show them the scratches and gouges (like they hadn't noticed!) they were like "we couldn't get it off, it's been a while since we've done one" and made it seem like it was my fault somehow?! I told VW (they recommended them) and they replaced it at their cost (tinter's) - expensive tint job for them. FYI you reach around the back of the handle and separate it from there. Tint job was fine though, no issues with that, just the way they treated my 2 week old car - would they have done that to their car? I think not.
Got Mine Done at Premier Tint for $250. 2nd Best tint avaliable there was called somhing like "Black Nite" i think. very happy with the job
Try to find a place which uses a decent brand of tint.
Last thing you want is to have to bring the car back to the tint shop and have them pull your door trims off and redo the tint again.
At our new car dealership (Suzuki,Newcastle) we use 3M window tint film.
Expect to pay a little more through a dealership because we dont use outside companies to do the tint, Its all done in house. I know that with our dealership we have specially trained 3M window tinters who are constantly trained on new 3m products and ways of tinting/ removing and reassembling different makes and models, apparently Golfs are a pain because if your not super careful part of the trim will snap off and rattle.
Roughly $300-350 should cover you for a really well done job with a lifetime warranty/covered under new car warranty.
My 3m only came with a 25 year warrenty!!
lol
Doubt you will keep the car for that length of time !!!
But its a small price to pay in order to make sure you never have troubles with the tint or door trim.
Or if you do, it gets fixed under the new car warranty (if tint was done at dealer)
