    Help with 9N Headunit install

    Hey guys,

I was hoping someone could give me some information before I order the last bit for a stereo install.

So I'm wanting to install a Sony XAV-AX100 Double Din headunit into a 9N Polo GTI. The entire car is completely factory.

    So I've already gotten,

    - The headunit
    - Aerpro 959012 Fascia
    - Aerpro APA60 Antenna adaptor

Now because the car is CAN i would like some info as to what bloody connector I use to convert from the factory plug to ISO, so I can splice into the wiring that came with the headunit.

The site lists a bunch of options so I wanted to see what people are actually running.

The car does NOT have steering wheel controls. I just got off the phone and even though that is the case I should grab the CHVW3C despite the fact the car doesn't have any steering wheel controls. I have no clue if the car has a factory fitted amp, this one is for one that does NOT.

Long story short, is this the correct one. These are expensive and I don't want to get it wrong!

    Cheers.

Aus30R - do you mind posting the complete parts list when you're finished?

I have a new head unit that was intended for another car that I'd kinda like to install in my Polo - but the right shaped fascia, these different cables/adapters etc. put it in the CBA category

Are you running this personally? I believe that with that one I would have to run a constant power to the battery as that doesn't support CAN.

Most certainly. I'll be documenting the entire process with everything in my build thread. It's been an interesting experience gathering everything for this install. So hopefully it'll help out others.

Yes to both. But people hook the switchable power to the cigarette lighter.

So direct power to the battery and switchable to the cigarette lighter? Or power from the car harness and switchable to the cigarette lighter?

I'd take power from the existing harness rather than run a wire to the battery, it's already there and fused appropriately.

I'm not sure, and I'm only looking at the wiring diagram (I haven't taken my radio out to check myself and don't have a picture to look at), but there should be an 8 pin connector with a red/yellow wire in pins 5 and 8, these should be permanent 12v and are behind fuse 51 (15A)

edit: pin 4 of the 8 pin connector should be black/red which is switched ignition, so shouldn't need to come from the cigarette lighter
