Well folks, the replacement blower rocked up this arvo. Thanks NP!
I wasted no time giving the outside a bit of a clean up. Then I went to fit the actuator off the original turbo, the new one is from an A3 and the pipe had a different orientation. Failed, went back to the Audi actuator and wriggled a bit of length on the pipe to make it fit.
Took a good while to fit it. Ran it about an hour ago and didn't get any leaks.
Note to self, don't remove a turbo then leave it 4 days to fit the replacement. You will forget where all the bolts go if like me you just chuck them all in a box.
Ready to go in. Cleaned off and water pipe fitted up with new copper washers, everywhere.
Oil line swilled out with brake cleaner. No crap came out.
Turbo fitted up and bolted on. New bolts, notice also that there is no silencer on the outlet on this one.
Novelty use of the jack to get the turbo in and out of the top.
I'll take it for a run tomorrow after work and see how it performs.
Gavin
