Mobil and BP are pretty equal in my experience -- Anything else and I find her idle a little rough.
hey guys.
what fuel brand do you find is better (performance economy etc)?
personally caltex vortex has been the best for me (almost 500km til fuel light came on) however in WA we dont get V-Power.

Sunroof // ICT Tint // Seats // Steering wheel
strictly BP Ultimate only. I have used Shell V-Power once on the Polo and hated it, it ran rubbish. Will never use anything else again. I think sticking to the one fuel has got to be better for the car as well. I relate it to using odd batteries, which can stuff things up...
here are a couple of threads started already on this topic

Really? I only use V-Power in mine. Vortex i stay away from, I think mainly psychological factors though. I didn't notice anything extra while using BP Ultimate. Never used Mobil. Tried V-Power Racing once, didn't notice anything either, though Shell have now phased it out.
I use BP Ultimate...Cos I have a Fuel Card, and it runs better with it than any other I have tried...

I used V-Power for the first 5000kms. Then used BP Ultimate and haven't used anything since (11000kms).
I get 40km/tank extra and I reckon it runs a bit better too (certainly no worse).

"VW GTI" QLD Prestige Plate
In order of preference:
1. BP Ultimate (smooth and economical)
2. United 98 (I would have never tried it as i had never heard of them previously but was stuck in Yarra Glen and had no choice and the car liked it as much as the BP, also tried a half tank of their 100RON on top of BP Ultimate and the car ran just as smooth but)
3. Mobil (7000 or 8000 cant remember, the 98 one)
4. Shell V-Power (car runs rough)
5. Caltex Vortex 98 (car runs very rough)
That said I mainly fill up with either BP Ultimate or Shell V-Power for convenience.
i've only used vortex 98, because i have a woolworths discount card. plus, the caltex i go to is the cheapest petrol station in my area.
i might have to try bp ultimate
