Are they not fully adjustable? For that price you would certainly hope so!
cup kit = matched springs and shocks, nothing adjustable
coilovers = threaded shock body so you can wind the height up and down
you can get adjustable dampers in coilovers and cup kits also.

Not to knock the Taiwanese but they aren't exactly known for their world class manufacturing quality....I could be wrong in this case.

Hmmmm having second thoughts now. Might do some more research.
dun get me wrong. D2 are made in taiwan not china.
quality is world class as D2 is not a small company, they distribute allover the wolrd, and they OEM other brand too.

another info is taiwan hasnt got the best road quality in the world. in fact its pretty hallarious. and D2 tests their product on these condition to ensure that the coil does survive.

Suspension is really so vital its not something you want to go cheap on & compromise quality for dollars.
Since you already have a set of H&R springs I think you're best option would be to match them up with a set of Bilstein B8s struts/dampers. I have been in a polo with this combo and its awesome. Dead flat around corners yet the ride comfort is uncompromised. These are not adjustable though but that really wont matter unless you are into any sort of serious track work.

And to second that, how many people really know how to set up coilovers anyways... Every change you make (rebound, damping, camber, castor, toe, etc) is a compromise of something else. Don't forget to get it corner weighed either. Many brands (Racing Logic for one, I can't confirm D2) sold here also don't meet ADR requirements due to the vehicle weight being concentrated on the height adjustable thread and not a fixed point.

But hey, each to their own.

I know a couple of people running the D2's and they've never had an issue. One of them has them on his track car (S13 with 250kW atw). He's done about 10 track days sofar without a problem.

It comes down to the old saying "you get what you pay for". Obviously they won't be as refined as a set of Bilstein coilovers but then again they're about 1/4 of the price so you wouldn't expect them to be. Another advantage to these is that they haven't been as affected by the plummit in the aussie dollar so you can still get a set for a decent price.

At the end of the day it's up to you. I'd personnally consider the D2's and as long as you don't want to be tracking the car all day every day you will probably never have a problem.

BTW they have a team in a few of the drift comps around the place (Aus and USA I think) and they never seem to have a problem. Obviously they would be replacing parts more often than you or me but you don't see them breaking half way through a run (and they get punished).
    Cheers,

    John
