24 hours old - getting used to it

Well, I've had the Polo GTI for all of 24 hours now, and have been frequently surprised by all the little features I had no idea existed.

Gotta say, putting the foot down and waiting for the turbo kick won't become old any time soon.

There seems so be so many electronically controlled or monitored things that could potentially break in the vehicle and so many features that could stop working.

Found the driver side light when you use the mirror in the visor today, nearly shat myself with laughter.

2 questions I'm curious about if I can change or if I need a service agent to look at:

Remote unlocking: Only unlocks the drivers door unless you double press. Can this be changed to open both side doors on single press?

Service Message: When I turn on the car, it beeps at me and says I should service the vehicle... Its been serviced before and is still under 10,000 KMS. So I don't think I need to be in any hurry to service it.

Don't think I'll look back, the Impreza was fun, but this is a hands down winner.

    Damn...

Well, -Cough- Fixed the service warning already...

Note to self: Use the search function like I've read 50 times before, it was damn easy...

Nice. I like reading these posts. Hoping to go through a similar experience in the near future.

There does seem to be plenty of nifty little features in the car, reading through the brochures ect.

Can I ask, what deal did you get on the new wheels, noone? (it's cool if you prefer not to reveal it).

the INSP tells you, you need to go back for service, but you can clear the code by yourself

here are some how you reset it:
1)To reset the long life service display manually,Switch off the ignition,
2)Then press and hold down the trip reset button beneath the speedometer.
3)Switch on ignition and release the reset button, note the relevent service will now be displayed in the display.
4)Turn the clock reset knob clockwise and the display will turn to normal.
5)switch off the ignitiion to complete the reset procedure

Well this is why I come back I guess, its a nice little niche.

I was telling my girl about this site and was looking for a similar version for Peugeot's for her (Shes got a 206GTI). When I didn't find an equivalent I thought how nice it was to have somewhere to look to answer stupid questions and imagine all the ludicrous things I could do to my car I felt this to be all the more special.

Yeah, I'm trying to hold of on the VAG connection, starting to remind me of when I found the service access page on my plasma screen (had to ask someone to tell me what the original settings where so I could get it to look normal again).

Hey noone. There is a really good forum for Pug's, and it's Aussie ... AussieFrogs. Thats a pretty cool garage you have, I quite like the 206GTI.

Have you found the buckets under your seats yet?

    Storage

Yeah, storage is a little strange, I'm used to having a center console, but also when I drive the Polo my stuff does not seem to fly all over the place like it did in the Impreza.

Guess when I get used to driving it a bit harder that will come back
