    9N3 TDI worth getting still?

Thinking about replacing my current car for something more economical plus a bit of a project for modding.

I have seen some stock ones going for about 6.5k with about 130k KMs. I like the idea that they don't have a DPF, manual, aftermarket parts available and a bit under the radar compared to GTi's.

Has anyone had much experience with these cars? Would they still be a good buy or be starting to get expensive to maintain?

Were good cars in the day, not sure that much would have changed over the years if they are maintained well enough. I would likely have one if they were available in 3 door.

Parts are cheap for the most part. Not heard horror stories about the engines

That 3 door model they got in South Africa with the higher tune and 6 speed would have been perfect! Mini version of my old GT sport.
