I finally got a callback from the VW lady and the news is that I have to wait for a fix from WV Germany. No dates could be provided and no pro-active offer to contact me with any updates. It will be 2 years this Aug since I bought the car!Quote:

They could provide no details either, aside from "a fix is available" and "we will have to look at your car when it comes in".
That said, I was assured that a fix was out.

I don't know why people are so worried about this squeal. I haven't heard of or read of any supercharger Clutch/water pump assemblies failing. Yeah my car makes the noise sometimes, but when you have the Dynaudio stero turned up I don't even hear it. I'm not worried about it.
When you take the car back to the dealer they will just tell you it's normal for the 118tsi. If it was a major problem VW would have done a recall on these models. Just enjoy the car and drive it.

Just got back from Ian Boetcher. Was a water pump issue and they said they have a fix. Now just waiting on parts.
