Checked the 4 fuses in the dash and in the engine compartment pertaining to ABS and ESP as per the service manual but they were fine... I thought you were onto something there. Where is the ABS module located? (is it a 5min job to disconnect or is it buried somewhere)?
Just notice something else weird, with the driver door open, the dashboard shows the front passenger door is open and vice versa. Haven't tested the rear doors.
Looks like there may be a coding issue in the car, possibly either the gateway or central electrics control unit. The door issue is basically showing that the central electrics thinks that the car is a LHD vehicle.
ABS module is down under battery, between the gearbox and firewall. You shouldn't need to remove anything more than just the intake pipe/airbox possibly. However the plug is abit of a POS to disconnect. I'd disconnect it, lock the car up and leave it 30mins to an hour, reconnect and rescan it.
Hmm, Ryan - check your CAN Gateway coding. Same as it was previously? I wonder if the FIS has done something funny to it. The cabling attached to the gateway is tightly connected?Quote:

Now that I've involved VW I'm inclined to discontinue trying to fix it myself via VCDS just so as not to confuse them further.
Interestingly though one of the labelled options in the ABS module is LHD/RHD but this appears to be is set correctly.
But presumably you cleared, and drove the car after (attempting) clearing?
Yes, that is the usual procedure which I have done successfully on other occasions.
It's not that I just have some dash lights, I physically have no ABS, HHA, or ESP at all. I've driven interstate like that.

I resolved the fault by heading into VCDS - 19 CAN Gateway, and re-checking the RHD box and 4+ door box in the last byte as per 01044 - Ross-Tech Wiki (thanks to the AutoPolar engineers for linking there).
