Thanks mate.
Thanks mate.
Couldn't demonstrate the shudder in 2nd gear very well but the service tech booked me in for a new clutch pack without any drama as he's evidently seen it all before. Won't be done for a couple of weeks though.
Had the VW tech's check our shudder out today and I'm pleased to report that after two reflashes of the DSG they are going to change the clutch packs next week when they get the part into stock.
Any further feedback from the guys who've already had this done? Does it seem to have corrected the problem?
Well, about three weeks later the shudder came back and its all glory, bigger and better than ever. It runs fine for about 20-30 minues until the DSG heats up, then it kicks in, particularly in corners.
Went back to VW yesterday and booked in for a clutch pack replacement.
Edit: BTW, got to drive a brand new Jetta 118 TSI with DSG. The gearbox in that car is absolutely perfect, the car is super responsive, smooth as silk and absolute joy to drive. A few things I didn't like about Jetta, but the DSG is simply superb!
Has anyone who's had their car checked for clutch/DSG issues had APR installed? Did you turn off & hide the tune or openly admit to it? I'm booked in for a few weeks later and will probably make use of the security lockout feature. That said, there's every chance they reset the ECU as well in which case I'll have to visit the guys at VP again anyway.
Mines having a new clutch fitted ATM. The flash didn't work (obviously) so we'll see when I get it back.
New clutch pack for me today as well (41 k's). Will report back after driving for a few days.
Has anyone else who's had the software flash noticed that engine braking is now much more aggressive when going down steep hills? My car changes down to 3rd and revs its tits off
I know some have said that the software makes the car hold gears longer, I guess that is a side effect. The manual is also quite specific about using 3rd gear in Manual mode when going down steep hills too.
It does on the upshifts - makes the car much more driveable.
Car does it in 'D' Mode. Definitely only started after the update. Gave me quite a start the first time - thought I'd accidently put it into 'S' Mode.Quote:
