Hey I dont have park assist (Im not sure you can get it on an R?) and my mirror dips.

I think you just need it in reverse and flick the mirror selector.

On a side note, do our mirrors actually heat? Friggin pretty cool but not sure when Id use it as they dont seem to get foggy to often..

Im pretty sure he meant HE'S not a massive car enthusiast, his mate is, and his mate recommended the GOLF.

Or he just meant that owning a Golf does not involve any car enthusiasm hahahahaha :)

I have cancelled my GTD order, it was ordered in Dec and I have been informed that November would be the most likely delivery date.:frown:

But not all is lost..... I have a Candy White GTI ordered, it is on water and should be mine late next month!! :yay::yay:

Not actually tried it here, but on the Golf I had in the UK this was a godsend - saved scraping the ice off the mirrors! You're right though, not so much of a need for that here, although maybe in Hobart....

Good work, upgrade is always good! I think you'll enjoy the GTI more as its the better car.

And Gee whiz November.. thats just too long man... The wait times are getting crazy. Even next month you will have been waiting for 5 months and that is just about long enough i reckon!

Just had an awesome conversation with Highway VW regarding my Golf R. Initially thought delivery wasn't going to be until very late in the year (we're talking October-December sometime), just been told it's supposed to land here end of April, with delivery sometime in May!

Best thing I've heard all week! Now this massive lump of yearning can slowly subside...

Do you generally bring your bank draft with you as you collect your car, or do you go there, inspect everything to see everything is in working order, then go to the bank and come back to collect the car?

I ask because I added some misc. stuff, so the price will be slighgtly different to the price that I was going to pay for. On top of that, going to see if i can haggle anymore prior to delivery.

Is your car already on order/have you signed a contract already? If so, I doubt you'd be able to haggle any more as you've already agreed to a set price, though that's not to say you can't get them to throw in a few more extras like luggage net etc...

In any case, you can always try your luck!

Thanks. Yes, 11 months was going to kill me. I am sure that I will enjoy the GTI, lots!!, will miss the fuel economy of the Diesel.

Yeah, I don't think they'll budge on price, but I'll ask if they can give me free service for the first 15000km, or a free checkup at 7500km. Something along those lines.

At the moment, I don't think Ill rock in with the pay yet. Probably after checking everything THEN going to the back?
