MKVI GTI Aussie release date?

German release is in the next day or so, rest of Europe will be starting deliveries after Easter.

Any rough idea on price? I'm finalised my purchasing date to November 2009 to buy it so should I be looking at the MK5 GTI or the MK6? (value for money wise)

Right hand drive will be available for delivery in the UK from the 22nd of May 2009.

Australia is still on target for Q4 2009 I believe.

Have a look at the UK VW site. You can spec and even order the MK6 GTI now.

Unless you pay $30K for a MK5 GTI (new) right now, I'd wait for the MK6.

Spoke to VW Dealer in Brissy this morning. They are confident of having the 1st GTI MK6's for sale by November 09.

Still no confirmation on the R20T though. R20T due for release Sept 09 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

i think i'm sold, 5 door dsg "family" car for the wife until they release the new awd platform. Just spoke to a dealer, fivedock barloworld, and he reckons a base model would be about 43k or just above that.

From the pics the interior looks alot better than the mkv.

VW Southport told me they'd be about $400 more than the old one about two weeks ago.
