What surprises me is why VW is still sending out GTIs without the clip fitted at the factory? Mine was manufactured in June 2011 and it has the rattle.
Didn't the original TSB come out back at the end of 2010 ???

It's only recent revisions of the TSB that even discussed the clip. The first several were no action, and then discussing temporary fitment of a wheel wait for testing purposes. So not really surprising at all that there are not yet any cars in the country which shipped from the factory with the clip fitted.Quote:

When I called the dealer about the rattle, they were surprised my car was still affected by the rattle - apparently they checked my VIN number and it is not within the range of VIN numbers affected according to the TSB (ie mine is newer than the VIN range on the TSB). Damn....I was REALLY looking forward to this after 16mths of rattle which has progressively got worse.
