How much power and torque does a Mk6 GTI REALLY have?

According to that, its got 165kW and 292Nm stock.

if it helps....i took on a e46 330ci looked like 05/06 model in a stock gti and spun a fair bit and still smashed it

i have also owned 3 bmws and the vw is by far a funner car unless you get a 135i or 335i

I have driven a stock 135i and it is QUICK...

Argh, the joys of new car ownership.

The only time my GTi feels remotely quick now is if I crank the stereo up so loud I cannot here the engine then i imagine as my foot is buried into the carpet that im only using a light throttle application LOL

well, i built my car for cornering, not for straight speed performance ;p

GTI is the wrong car for straight speed or 1/4 mile hype...

how bout u try catching up with me on the corners in exactly a month time? :D

but i will bring a mate this time, so it will be a bit weight handicapped..

then if still unresolved, we will compare laps times on the 2nd June :banana:
