Golf R Observations and Questions

Not as good as an R32 I bet.

I am really looking forward to getting an R to replace my Mk5 GTI (As soon as I can convince the war office).

The only down fall for me is the colour range that VW is offering here in Australia.

My current car is red and would be happy to get another in that colour...or...

How good would and R look in Solar Orange (XR5 or Audi colour) with the 19 inch black rims...

I can but dream...

Thought of that...very expensive exercise and the paint would never be as good as factory paint.

Vinyl wrap?
That way you can reverse it back to factory paint if you get sick of it/want to sell.

Cars are resprayed all the time and can be of excellent quality if you do your research and choose a great panel beater. But like you said it can be expensive, especially if you gut the vehicle to ensure everything is painted properly.

Just depends on how unique you want your R to be. I would go with white if you do decide to respray.

Speaking of which, if I were to go down that path I am not sure with what respray color I would go with.

See Alex at Response Graphics (think that's his name, he used to be on the MINI2 forums back in the day). For extra bonus he is doing a carbon vinyl wrap on Motor Magazine's long term Evo X.

Speaking of Manuals .. I have an unsold 3door R in Candy white with MDI cloth seats. Just arrive today on a truck if anybody is looking around for one and does not want to wait? Looks great.
