COBB Tuning SF Intake - MK6 GTI

    Hi Everyone,

This is my second post on the forum though I joined in 2015. I currently own a MK6 GTI and was shopping around for different intake options, I must have spent hours and hours looking for the one I thought was right. I wanted something durable, something that looked good but by far my number 1 priority was that I wanted to keep the police happy and off my back - so the system I chose had to be a closed airbox system.

I decided to go with the COBB Tuning SF Intake, Not stocked anywhere in Australia, I had to buy it through Car Mods Australia who orders it from COBB Tuning in the US.

I am not really a content creator or someone who socialises online, however I wanted to share some thoughts and videos on this intake to help others get some insight into the product, videos I wish were there when I was doing my research. Though there are some COBB intake videos out there, I could not find any for the MK6 GTI specifically.

I have attached some photos of it installed, and have created a playlist on YouTube which will have the unboxing, installation, sound tests etc.

Overall I really like this intake, it looks and sounds awesome. I found it to be very high quality so far (I say so far as only time will tell what the durability is like), from packaging to materials and the way everything fits together without any modifications or the need to MacGyver anything.

Why do this in the first place:

    Why Not? But also because....
I recently bought this MK6, I currently own a stock MK5 which I still love and in my opinion still is the best looking one - a classic. The MK6 was definitely growing on me until I eventually bought it, My intention is to get straight to a Stage 2 Revo Tune. I already have an aftermarket 3" dump pipe, so this intake now completes the REVO prerequisite modifications for Stage 2. I will be doing the tune in the coming month(s).

Update - COBB MK6 GTI SF Intake - Part 4: Driving Sound Test

Today I posted another video showing some video/sound clips from the day after the COBB Intake Installation. The sound quality is not the best but it is good enough, I might make another video down the line with better sound/mic equipment.

The next video I plan on making will be some time later, perhaps a month or so as a longer term thoughts/review/feedback video after spending more time with this intake.
