    Air-con issue

    Hi guys,
just wondering if anyone has a fix for an air-con problem I'm having?
when the AC is set to "hi" (golf r) the heater works great. However, if I set it to 26 degrees it starts blowing cool air I'd say about 20 degrees. It's way too cold for winter but the "hi" setting is too hot.
    Anyone?

I have a model year 11.5 R with exactly the same problem. On cooler days, even when I have set the desired temp to 24 or 25 there is still cool air blowing from the vents. Is quite annoying. My old GTI never had similar issues. Unsure if this means the internal temperature sensor is faulty. Will get the service guys to have a look next service.

I've had the same problem before in a Polo. It was the sensor unit (sorry don't know the correct name). Replacement cost me about $1200, 3 years ago but it should be a warranty repair for you.

We have this exact same issue in our Tiguan. It's being looked at Friday. The only difference is, this issue is experienced on the drivers side of the car. The passenger side is working ok.

I set the air-con to "Auto (low)" and "Auto recirculate" and the temp to 23 (for winter) and 24 (for summer). In both situations, none of the vents are directed at passengers. I find the temperurate is comfortable in with this configuration in sub zero conditions all the way through to 40 plus conditions.

strange. i run my climate control with the ac on (sometimes off), with feet, face and sometimes front window. with the temp for both sides at 22/23 degrees. dual is also selected. its been nice and warm for me this winter. i havent had a chance to test it in summer as the car is only 2000km old and 2 months old
