Ever since buying my Golf over 12 months ago I have been complaining about the noisy rear shock absorbers, finally after having warranty work done for a faulty ignition switch the dealer said that there is a TPI [2034188/5] out on this problem and they have ordered two new shockers for my car.11407

Hope it will be smooth sailing for you. On some other forums people who had rear shocks replaced said that noise was still there after the replacement.

I have read that too, anything would be an improvement at present it sounds like an old FG Holden with worn shocker mounts.

I've read a number of people who had the same experience as you, I'm glad it is finally recognised by VW.

I had the same problem. VW replaced them, the rear shocks. So far so good

I had my new shock absorbers fitted today the part No 5Q0513029DP according to the service invoice, on the way home I went slow over the same bumpy roads that use to give me grief and I was rapped the suspension was so quiet. In fact as soon as I started driving the car from the dealers workshop I could tell straight away that the suspension was so much quieter at last I have peace and quiet I just hope it stays this way. Must add I have been complaining about this problem for over 12 months now.
