Got the car back from the workshop yesterday really happy with the results. In terms of comfort (I'm probably not the best judge as my last 3 cars have had coilovers fitted) Its a little stiffer meaning you can feel potholes & ruts in the road slightly more than stock but its really not drastically changed the overall comfort levels inside.

Eibach have done a great job of delivering a decent drop (35mm for TSI's, TDI's & 25mm for GTI's, R's as these already have a slight drop) whilst not compromising ride quality. Handling wise i can't comment too much on this as i lowered the car more for the aesthetics, its not a performance car and i don't drive it like one! Having said that it feels tighter & more poised when turning whilst reducing bodyroll (although there was not much to begin with)

Let me know what you think and i'll do my best to answer any questions. Oh and shout out to 'Elite Euros' in Perth. Great price, clean, professional and efficient. Speak to Joe he'll sort you out a good deal. (I supplied the springs direct from Eibach but he can source them in too)

I had mine lowered on Eibach springs, too! Definitely improved the handling.

Replicas, mate. Couldn't find genuines at the time haha. I bought the car in April 2013 and wanted them ASAP (wheels in June '13 and springs in July '13).

You car will settle a bit more and drop another 3mm or so - mine did. Sits so well. Loooove it.

I'm thinking of dropping mine when it arrives (Sept), also a Highline but with 18" Durbans and VW Sports suspension which I'm sure will still be too high.

I'm not looking for performance so much as reducing that SUV sized gap between the wheel and arch, getting it more concentric and balanced to the eye.

Wezza - it looks good and about where I want to drop mine to, any chance of some more pics?

I'm looking at Eibach, H&R and WVR springs, I have no idea which is better.

Was there any positives with installing through the dealership? (warranty etc..)

Springs don't affect the warranty (I checked at my local)

Jazrod

I took it there because when I had the springs installed the Mk7 had only been out a month or two - and Eibach had told me I was the second person to buy them. I figured VW Would have a better understanding of disassembling my car and installing the new springs.

Springs can affect warranty, although you'd be unlucky.

If a modification that you make renders the vehicle unroadworthy (ie too low), or a part fails that can be attributed to the modification, then the manufacturer is within their rights to deny a warranty claim. Depending on the dealer you get, they can be more or less difficult to deal with on such matters.

Changing springs alone, especially on a car without active dampers, shouldn't be an issue - as long as everything's fitted properly. But that's not written in stone.

Agreed, I'd say you'd be pretty much voiding anything suspension related, but they're not big ticket items in the overall scheme of things (IMO). I'm assuming this car has active dampers though.

Will be interested to hear an ongoing review of ride quality compared to stock. I am keen to consider a small drop myself, but have no interest in stuffing up the Mk7 ride quality.

Which dealer did you get this done if you don't mind me asking?

How much camber did this induce? And how much more sunken do the stock rims sit?
Thanks

Dutch,

I'd say ride quality is really not affected overall. If you say hit a pothole you do feel that its a little firmer, But its by no means transformed the car into a spine jarring ride. It handles better and IMO looks heaps better too.

Anyone else who has dropped there car have any thoughts on ride quality?

I think it's a perfect balance of comfort and handling . . . I used to say the same as thing for my XR5T Focus. It feels very similar, just not as much power.

I had it done in Campbelltown (Paul Wakeling VW). Camber is a bit more negative than standard, but it looks good.

Hi anyone know front and rear axle weight for MK7 Tsi?
I try to buy Eibach spring for my Tsi. but there are two part no.
One is 'E10-15-021-01-22' (suitable for vehicles with front axle weights up to 985kg and rear axle weights to 1000kg.) The other is 'E10-15-021-03-22' (suitable for vehicles with front axle weights up to 985kg and rear axle weights to 900kg.)

Do you know which one is suitable for MK7 TSI?

Part 01 is for multi-link rear axle, part 03 is for beam rear axle; my understanding is all Australian Golfs have the multi-link rear axle? I believe only sub-90kw models in other parts of the world carry the beam rear axle.

Nice Find mate, too bad they can't come up with a release date. It was suppose to be released in september, then october and now december.

Good things come to those who wait. Being personally involved in the development of these arms, we wanted the combo perfect before release, which meant several, expensive revisions to the product. You will very shortly see some video with pro drivers on a familiar Golf R (Black one) in many, many handling tests.

Personally a few extra months is very little in comparison to the 20 months of development we are already into on this product.

There are more development parts on this Golf R than any other in the world that we know of: And one of two sets of pre production (final) arms on the planet. Other set is on display at SEMA.

We will offer an exclusive "Race" version alongside the regular ones with added castor / camber again.

kry_wolf

Depends on how much you want to lower it. VWR springs (http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-Golf_VII--1.8T_Gen3/Suspension/Springs/ES2823082/) should do the job and don't ruin your stock shocks.

VWR Sport Springs (ACC Compatible) - Racingline Aus (http://www.racingline-aus.com/parts/vwr-sport-springs/)

These will fit, they're for the IRS version of the Mk7. All Aus delivered ones are IRS so you should be fine!

In Europe at least in Poland i changed my springs to German Eibach.I lost my warranty (only suspention) since the parts are not made by VW.If you want to keep your warranty you have to get the springs from VW and have them installed at your dealer. In Poland there was only one option for the springs. The ones which are in the option for the car called "sport suspention".Those are springs made by VW using the standard shock abosrbers lowering the car about 2cm. Eibach lowered the car by 3.5cm. Later after you change the spring you have to adjust some elements of the suspenion. That also has to be done by the service at VW.

The second option is (more expensive) the VWRacing springs.Hard to get in Poland.Though in the UK they have an online shop.

Sports Springs - Volkswagen Racing (http://volkswagenracing.co.uk/parts/vwr-sports-spring-kit-22/)

Those are for MK6 and 5.Read somewhere that they do have those as well for MK7.
Bare in mind that it will cost you way more to get the springs and install them at VW service.I paid like 50% less for the Eibach springs plus the cost of installation cost me about 1/4 of the price suggested by the service.

Also check this one:

This looks awesome Wazza. Are these the eibach pro kit? Also what size wheels are these?

Hi everyone I'm a noob to all this and just recently brought a Golf TSI. I've also got on order some Eibach Pro kit springs to go along with my 17's. Was going to get the sport line but I thought maybe the 40mm drop would be to low...any feedback would be great!

Pardon my ignorance but I've just got a 2019 Golf R (hatch) which I'm thinking about dropping 20-25mm.

Any issues lowering it with Eibach springs (thinking how it might impact the active suspension)?

Thanks!

Hi,
I am new, just joined :)

I bought Eibach Pro-Kit Performance Spring Kit E10-15-021-02-22 for my 2014 TDI 2.0 which had been sold, never had a chance to put them on.

Today i am getting a new Golf MY19.5, 1.4TSI, I contacted Eibach support, they told me that the old kit for TDI is not the right ones for my Golf, the correct kit is E10-15-021-01-22
The old kit (E10-15-021-02-22), will also fits the new Golf but the front will not be at correct height, not sure if he mean it is going to be lower or higher.

Hope someone is able to give me more information the specs of these two kits or point me in the right direction.

Thanks.
