It isn't based on the new MQB chassis either.

It is starting to look better as the make-up comes off. Still looking forward to see some wagon spy shots.

Hmmm... I think its on an update PQ25 chassis.

Why would they release the Fabia on the new chassis whilst the Polo has another 2yrs on the PQ25 chassis?

All will be revealed in Paris in October. Expect something between a Mk1 and a Mk2 Fabia. RS model a few years away if VW/Skoda are interested.

Not disagreeing with your comment but things could change again in the future.

First things first however, we need to see what motor the updated Polo GTI will have.

It will be interesting to see how the ne Fabia Mk3 sells against an updated Polo.

In other motorsport news...The new Fabia R5 WRC2 rally car is due for homologation in mid 2015. They are currently testing the new racing 1.6t drivetrain in the current S2000 WRC2 rally car. Once the new rally car is up and running hopefully we can start talking about a new RS model again (fingers crossed).

Yes everyone - saying there will be no more RS Fabia is like saying there won't be another Holden coupe after the first, no the second, no the third Monaro....you know what I mean - there will be no Fabia RS until there is...in the meantime I have two of the best little turbo hatches in the country. I love them to death.

Yes I could get a better one - but not without paying a lot more for a car I don't like as much

Oh and as for the platform:
50% MQB platform, 40% PQ26 10% PQ25 platform

and not having the latest version of some feature doesn't make the package irrelevant, it just means they saved money.
I challenge any average driver to know - or be able to tell the difference between the drive on one chassis as opposed to another?
Someone probably can - not I

I love leaving A1 owners in the dirt - they may, and I mean MAY be more comfortable, but I am way way way happier paying half the price for twice the go.

When I bought my Fabia RS - Polo GTI buyers were waiting 3 months and paying 33990 (full retail plus options)
No one knew what a Fabia was - so i got a fully optioned ex demo for 25500 . Muchy changey changey for laugh laugh

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but who here as placed an order for one of these? Ordered mine - a white 81TSI wagon - a couple of weeks ago - being told delivery in October :-)

I've just ordered a Candy White manual 66TSI hatchback. No options. I should be able to pick it up sometime in September. :)

I've ordered a MY16 Moon White Manual 66TSI Wagon.
Signed the paperwork for it about a month ago, I was told it would be a MINIMUM 6 months wait for delivery.

Got an update from the dealer - should be landing in Port Kembla on the 26th of Sept :)

I was lucky - the car is my spec was previously reserved for a manager/exec as a company car, and so already ordered, but common sense and $$ prevailed so it is now mine.

I'm thinking about ordering a Fabia 66TSI,
Just test driving it today but I'm pretty set, it'll be my first manual but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it! :) Deciding between Black/Rally Green and Black/Sprint Yellow! :)
Wow 6 month wait is that on hatches too?

I don't think the wait is the same for a hatch.
But might be worth asking a dealer!

Took delivery today :-) as I said before I was lucky that I ordered a car that had already been built. The wait is a major issue and was told today that they are losing sales as a result. They are bringing in quite. A few hatches but more enquirers are coming in for the wagon which has taken them by surprise. Told them the truth that like for like if you have to wait 3 months on a fabia or get a polo in 2 weeks you know where to go. I honk the wagon is a better bet for them as they offer something different

Sweet. The white ones look great with the black glass roof Same goes for Rapid Spaceback.

I was reading the 2015 accessory brochure and it lists "spare wheel set" (6V0 093 860). Not sure if that is meant to be the wheel or the jack or both? So what is in the spare wheel well???

jxenos

May be a replacement part? I definitely have a spare and jack kit in the boot.

Our large spares have still always been on a non-standard rim and a different tire from the car. What is the tyre size of the spare?

In the USA, looks like they don't need spares any more. Saw a breakdown on holidays - recent model Ford midsize with huge slash in sidewall from hitting an obstacle. No spare in boot at all - just a pump and some gunk. Had to wait hours for roadside service to organise a tow.

I'll check when I get back home in a couple of days - pretty sure its not another alloy - but not quite space saver.

Unfortunately tyre repair kits and/or run flats are the trend now. Dad's X1 uses run flats and my mates Clio RS just comes with a kit. He's got an extra rim though at home. I can understand it in the small city-car class of cars which rarely see you out of town but mid-size and up really should have a proper spare - or at least a space saver.

jxenos - looks fantastic! I can't wait for mine!
I've spoken to the dealer. The car should be built this month. I should know the delivery date before Christmas.
But all on track for a late Jan/early Feb delivery.

Thanks meri84 - pretty happy so far

Dealer seemed pretty frustrated about the stock they're getting from head office. They though my hatches would be more popular but the wait is pushing people away. At least with the wagons they offer something different.

When I called them the other day to ask for an update on my car, they said that they have been told to stop taking orders for the wagons.

Not sure how true that is. Unfortunately the lovely salesman who sold the car to me is no longer working for them :( he was a lovely funny guy, and not pushy at all (I can't stand pushy sales people!)
