Has anyone had any experience with the ProMotech power module, either for Skoda or VW engines
BR657 - Skoda Fabia II RS 1.4 TSI - Produktinformation - ProMotech AB (http://promotech.se/?p=moduleinfo&cId=15995)
Be interested in any feedback, I have a MY2012 Fabia RS

Hi John,

We are the Australian dealers for CPI Tuning and offer a very similar but fully track and road tested units from well respected technicians and tuners from South Africa. With proven results on the dyno, in everyday driving and on the quarter mile (if that's what you are looking for)

CPI Tuning (http://www.cpituning.com.au/home.html)

PNP units explained so you have more information to make the right decision.cpi-ecu-tuning-explained (http://www.cpituning.com.au/cpi-ecu-tuning-explained.html)

To answer your question. PNP units do work and I am yet to find any ECU tuners that can find any fault with them. At the end of the day the unit is controlling signals just like any ECU tune. The gains are also proven and no one can argue that. I cannot comment on the brand above, but our units are fully configurable.. they are not just a bunch of resistors as some other ECU tuning companies make you believe. See link above.

Our pricing at present is not quite locked in so if you would like more information and to see how we can help you, please contact us.

Thanks
AK

IMO if you cant find a decent review on the product then it isn't probably all its cracked up to be.
I checked out a few before buying this one Tuning Box for Skoda Fabia/Octavia/Superb/Roomster 1.4 TSi 180 bhp Twin Charger (http://www.tmcmotorsport.com/TuningBoxDetails.aspx?s=4269799184)

Used by a fair few vrs drivers on briskoda

Just be sure to check wether you have a cave or cthe engine first being my12

Hey Noisy - I checked my handbook stamp and the engine is a CAVE
Do you know of any link to show what the differences are?
I found one which said just a couple of minor internal part changes but not sure if it is accurate
Cheers, John

Yeah a few internal parts and a new ecu map. You won't find much info as they don't want to admit there were some problems with cave.

It puts out slightly more power (up to 7-13 more hp) some owners claim the cthe pulls stronger after 5500rpm but so does mine so it just depends on the engine.

Thanks Noisy - I would have thought 5-10KW equivalent would have been something to write home about in reviews, unless the CAVE was underpowered to start with.
Anyways, got the Promotech unit in, feels a little perkier but testing it is causing a problem.
Traction control seems to cut power when wheelspin is detected and wet weather does nothing for testing extra power (Melbourne over last week).
Taking traction control off just creates lots of wheel spin off the line in the dry. Wet weather, dont bother (it wheelspins changing into 3rd but that may be normal).
Has anyone got a secret formula for reducing wheelspin for a decent takeoff as it can be a little embarrassing when "having a go" at the lights either for fun or a drag (other than less right foot!).
I have replaced the hard old factory Dunlops with Bridgetone RE002 on the front.

NO review required. Hard proof. Dyno chart of our Skoda Fabia RS (at the wheels) and a quarter mile time slip.

I must stress this is software only. No other mods. Running 98oct.

Hey mate, is there anything else you needed to install or adjust with this kit? or is it simply a plug and go on to the stock engine?

Thanks, Alex.

Hi Autoslick, is that with your ECU tune in? How does that compare to factory.
Wouldn't mind doing the 1/4 mile and testing output on a Dyno myself.

Nope it just plugs into Boost, manifold and crank angle sensors comes preset at 6 (numbers 1-9) personally 7 is best and of you
go. just be prepared for a lot of tyre shredding!
