VW MKVI GTI ECS Street Shield Aluminum Skid Plate - Only $219.95!

The belly pans provided for modern Volkswagens have always appeared to be
under-engineered, out of place, cost-cutting parts.

Many enthusiasts have chosen to run their cars without this protective
cover entirely. This decision, however, ignores the unfortunate reality
that the belly pan protects several critical engine and drivetrain
components.

ECS has in-house designed and engineered a much more sensible solution –
The Street Shield Skid Plate features corrosion resistant, air-ventilated,
3/16” thick 5052 aluminum, with black zinc-coated steel hardware, offering
complete engine undercarriage protection.

All the mounting points & tabs look exactly like where they are on the Tiguan & it is protecting exactly the same engine... Hmmm, ponder ponder. Wonder if it will fit the Tig?

Can you guys at ECS Tuning advise?

Cheers.

I don't see it as it would offer much improved protection, since it's mostly bolted to the other plastic bits there. :?
Maybe good enough for the Golf's street use, but not much good for our Tiguans.
The shipping cost is also killer unless you get 4 or more of them.

Check under product info for the drop down - "Application Guide" to see all vehicle options. Keep posted for more possible options as we have more cars to test fitment.
