Hi guys

While reading one of the british forums I came across this thread:

Rust after 0-1 year in Golf7! - GOLFMK7 - VW GTI MKVII Forum / VW Golf R Forum / VW Golf MKVII Forum (http://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4105)

which was talking about a post in a Danish forum:

VAGcars.dk - Vis emne - Min Golf 7 begynder at ruste på taget (http://www.vagcars.dk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=94306)

This is a little bit worrying. I was just wondering whether anyone here has had a similar experience.

Stedes: Agree - it is worrying! Even if the problem is due to the paint drying on the sealant (as some have suggested) it shouldn't happen.

Let's hope that the old addage about a single swallow not making a summer is true (doesn't seem to be a systemic problem at this stage).

I drove to work today, so I went and had a look at my car. Been 6 months, and 8000km on the odo, can't see any cracks in the highlighted areas. But there is a small dimple on the left side. Looks like the paint didn't quite make the same coverage right on the corner, but it's not noticable.

There is also another mk7 in the carpark, so I had a look and it had no cracks as well. That car is a few months older than mine.

Had my Mk7 Highline for a year now and almost at 20,000 kms (where did they go!!) and no signs of rust like that.

Can see where they used the sealant, and would not be surprised if putting the sealant on was a manual task rather than robot completed, so may be more variability?
