Hi guys,

My friend is looking to buy a Passat CC, what should he keep an eye on? He wants a turbo diesel and he found one, really cheap. This car says it has been serviced, it has 31,000km at the moment, when would the next service be and would it be a major?

Do you guys think this is a good deal?

hi
welcome to the forum.ton of info on here, the search button is your friend.i just bought the v6 version a couple of months ago and am loving it.
as far as things to look at.mainly the normal things when you buy a car.listen for abnormal noises, especially the gearbox, try a lot of varied speed driving and see if there is any jerkiness from the gearbox, check the tyres as cc's tend to have cupping issues with tyres, make sure services have been done and up to date, try all the switches so you know everything works, check the door and panel gaps are even,if they arent could be a sign of accident damage, usual check for obvious oil leaks.if you can find out what oil ,viscosity, has been used and check it is vw approved.
not sure on the 2.0 diesel but with mine next service was 45k and not a major one.i believe 60k service is the big one as dsg gearbox has to be done and is expensive.this car seems to have a good lot of options for the money, almost exactly the same as mine.
dont be put off because they are a great car to drive once you get used to them.you will get looks of envy every day.do your home work properly and you will have a great car experience.
cheers

My only other heads up is if possible ask where they drive it.

The diesels do alot better if they get a good run. Stop and starting, idleing and short trips aren't as healthy for them.
