Going out to Baskerville this sunday to watch the Aussie cars. They will be superfast around there. Anyone interested in that too? Be an early start as I reckon the hill will fill up. Plenty of thrills & spills, almost guaranteed!! :D

Ok. So heres the deal. Later saturday morning we meet. Head down to Cygnet either via Huonville or down the channel way. Brackie, mikinoz and myself going so far. Lunch at one of the hotels there and time for a good chin wag. Whose up for it? Will be a good run and only take up to 3 hours out of your weekend. Still have to make a start time and place to meet. Good forecast too. :D :D

I'm also up for Saturday morning. Who's cruzin'? I don't get down to Hobart much (last time was in 2000  ) so it'll be a while until I get the opportunity to meet you guys from the Deep South.

Friday should be a goer - mite bring the little tike!

Saturday - Maybe meet at 11? location TBC - Cruise down to Cygnet via Nichols Rivulet road lunch, and return via coast or by Huonville and Old Huon Highway?

Remember that there are dodgey suspects that hang around at the entertainment centre carpark at these events, so keep valuables out of the car! ;)

Golf-Kart - you can ride shot gun if you don't want to cruise in the Hilux! :P

Others?

Just got back from the Hobart 'International' Motor Show – it was super!

The highlight for me (besides seeing 30 highly modified commodores) was this...

Can’t wait to go again next year! :P

Good morning all. Got a call from Mikinoz and the meeting time is now 10am this morning at 429 Sandy Nay Road. Think that is the actual name of the motel :D

went to the motor show last night. was thoroughly let down. was fairly lame (apart from the dyno run). I scored myself some new shin gaurds from the motorbike shop (for my bmx) so that was ok i guess.

Gimme a break Kart! Stop pulling cones and then posting about how good the 'International' motor show was... ;)

Almost seemed the only international cars were from Japan!

And concept cars? :x I was expecting to see an Audi RS4 - only Euro cars were in the carpark!!

I want my $14.00 back please!

We must have missed the secret concept car room Mick...

From http://www.ameshow.com.au/hobart/hobart_motorshow.htm accessed 27/05/2006:

"This Show will embrace all sections of the Motor Industry, whether it be New and Concept Cars, Four Wheel Drives, Motorhomes, Caravans, Motorcycles, Outdoor Camping Equipment, Hi Performance Showcars, Automotive Parts and Accessories, Performance Tuning Equipment plus the latest Automotive products being demonstrated... it’s all at the first ever Tasmanian Motor Show - Everything for you and your Car and your outdoor lifestyle"

"...A Specially prepared Black Toyota HiLux Sportivo will also make it’s debut at the International, we have had a sneak preview at this “Trick Truck” and it certainly looks the Goods. Along with these, expect to see many other display’s including Lamborghini, HSV, Ford/FPV, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Volkswagon, Fiat, and a Myriad of Euro and Japanese Sport Compacts. Keen Tasmanian Motoring enthusiasts can participate in this section of the event by entering and displaying their Car at the International."

VW?!?!? where?...and I’m not ashamed to admit it – I am a Hilux enthusiast. After weeks of waiting in anticipation I was extremely disappointed with the "...Specially prepared Black Toyota HiLux Sportivo..." it was just a 'pov pak' duel cab with a Sportivo badge on the tailgate... :?

I’m so disillusioned.

i dont really care what was there, or what was expected to be there. it was just plain lame! (apart from the dyno) Here here! I want my $14 back!

That "Show" was soooo rigged. The financial benficiaries did a good job of promoting something that was never intended to be.

I'm pis*ed off because there were:

No Pugs
No Cits
No Audis
No Renaults
No concept cars

BUT MOST OF ALL BECAUSE THERE WERE
No VWs

In fact the only Eurpopean cars were:
1 Lotus open wheeler
1 '50s Porsche
1 70's Ford Capri
(Oh and a number of Fiat vans...Nice diesels  )

Did I miss one more

But it was great to walk around with other forum members.
