Congrats. I love the colour - it looks so rich! It's a better red than the golf came in in Mk4 or is it the same? Just looks so much more glossy!

Thanks guys,

I think the Boras gonna have to come to flat four now lol.

Ill get some specs up soon. Ive had mixed feedback bout the scoop. Im in between atm. Not sure weather im gonna keep it or not. Other then that im happy with it.

Ill definatly keep the 20's on. I love chrome on cars.

i know you havnt asked for opinions, but a wrx scoop? and 20's are sick! but the vaults have been way over done with all the auto salon scene; other than that love the colour! the kit is subtle but really suits it! and the engine mods sound the goods! do you have any idea of expected power? :D

Also do you have any trouble with the tires scrubbing? What size are your tires? Im looking at getting some 19's in two days! :D Just wanna know if they're give me grief.

Nah its actually a smooth ride. It all depends on the suspension and how you modify the guards to not make it rub. I reckon go 19 inch, make sure rear guards are rolled back

Erm, so how come it took until page three for someone to click that this car has either had an aftermarket turbo kit fitted, or a complete engine trnsplant. No Bora sold in Australia had an OEM turbo powerplant.

hey guys,

sorry bout the lack of updates.

I was at the motor show bout 2 weeks ago and i spoke to a guy called george from VW village.

I told him bout the mods on the car and he told me im running bout 40%more power then stock. I know this sounds bad that i dont even know what is under the bonnet of my own car, but we seemed to have thought their maybe a supercharger too. He gave me his details and said to bring it in to his shop as he was interested in having a look at the car, just been lazy i guess.

Im more of an aircooled vee dub person and im handy with my bug in working my way round the motor but new skool is a whole different thing for me.

Sorry again guys

BlackVr6ix
30-10-2007, 09:30 AM
take some photos under the bonnet, im sure most of us would be able to spot a supercharger in there is there is one.

Lukev85
30-10-2007, 09:34 AM
he said it may be under the engine cover, tried having a look but can see, guessin it maybe as the engine cover is slightly elevated.

What you guys thinkin?

SoVeReIgN
30-10-2007, 09:34 AM
How did he guess you have 40% more power than stock if he doesn't know whether you have a supercharger or not :s

Sounds like he doesn't know what he's talking about!

Take a few under the hood shots for us or take it to a reliable mech and i'm sure it won't take long to work out what it's running. :)

Follow the piping for the intercooler and see if it goes anywhere.

The mods were all done in Canberra and i brought it with all the mods done.

And no, its no joke

Ill look at the reciepts and get the names of the performances places work was done at. As i mentioned ive never had anything to do with new skool dubs.

Did it come with warranty?

How do u know the mods were done properly?

Goodluck with it!

If its a supercharged V5 then its should go well just as long as the tuning is correct.

It comes with a 5 yr warrenty that covers all mods

From what i can see with the reciepts all work was done at euro motor sports in canberra.

Performance wise, to goes hard, its pretty quite with driving normally but when you flatten it, it really opens up and sounds like a V8. Smooth as

When you said you had a $4000 exhaust that was a joke miltek are not that expensive, even if it was gold plated!

Follow the front mount piping and see where it leads to, or if your coming this weekend to the flat fours bring it along, so we can check it out :)

Can u hear any whinning noise when u give it some gas? If so you might have a supercharger/turbo in the car or it came with a free woman in the boot. I could probably live with the car if it didnt have the bonnet scoop, i think thats just going a bit to far but each to their own i suppose :D

Scoop doesnt do jack unless you have a top mount intercooler. If anything it could prove costly as water may enter through the scoop and can cause ignition coils to fail etc etc. Ditch the 20's and get some wide ass BBS's and a boser bonnet and itll be wicked.

Saw Lukes car at the show on the weekend. The intercooler is a dummy, connected to nothing and the bonnet scoop only cools the engine.

It has an oetteneger grille and some badges and could have chip or internal work to the motor, but looked stock from the outside.

I liked the interior, grey leather perches are porn.

Hi Luke,

I must admit I had reservations when you described the car, there were many unanswered questions but you liked it so you bought it and good on you for that. As you don't regret buying the car there is no problem is there?

It's your car, it is unique and I'm sure you'll get much pleasure from owning and driving it. :)
